The last days of "baby"

This is it.  Griffin's birthday week...this time last year is still VERY clear in my mind.  We were all packed, prepped, and ready to go to the hospital, as we had a scheduled delivery via csection.  I'm not going to write too much about this because that's what the next blog will be about, and only about.  A whole entry dedicated to no one else...just our little boy.  Our little one year old boy.  With two children, it's sometimes difficult to set aside just one-on-one time, but this past week, I did just that.

Griffin went shopping with Mommy (usually something Payton does with me), swimming alone with Mommy, and we went to visit my dear friend, Rebecca, and her family, who are in town from Texas.  Payton has a cold, so we didn't want to "share" that with everyone.  She and Daddy enjoyed some time alone also.  Also last week, Payton and I went to Carowinds water park again, Griffin, Payton and I went to meet my friend's new baby, Tessa, and we celebrated Madi's dad's birthday with him.  Payton got to hold 2 newborns last week, and she was in heaven!

I bought Payton some goggles...she immediately put them on, and wanted to take a bath (parents-if you are having a problem with bath time, I highly recommend!)  The next day, we tried them out in the pool.  Had I known they would help her swimming 100%, I would have bought some a long time ago.  She swam ALL the way across the width of our pool, took 3 breaths on her own, and made it to the side.  I didn't touch her once.  Pretty freaking amazing, if I do say so myself!  So, the goggles are a big hit! Griffin can blow bubbles on command now, kicks his feet like crazy, but still hasn't gotten any arm movement down.  He loves going under, jumping off the side, and being thrown into the air.  So, we'll take that! 

This week is a big one for us.  Wednesday, 8-8-12, is our 4th wedding anniversary, and Thursday, 8-9-12 is Griffin's first birthday.  It will be a week full of prepping, shopping, cleaning, playing, eating, one year doctor check up, celebrating, and reminiscing.  As much as we are looking forward to spending time with family and friends, we are going to try to slow down Father Time, and enjoy these last days of Griffin as a "baby."  Enjoy our pictures and (lots of) videos from the past week....

If there is something to crawl over, under, or through, you better believe our son is there!

Flash Forward:  The Teenage Years.

First time she's ever passed out on the couch....she did this twice over the weekend.  She stayed up late, and was getting a cold.  One tired baby girl!
