It's been an amazing year, with a lot of exciting things happening for the Kugler family. The birth of our beautiful daughter was definitely the highlight of the year, and continues to be. It's going to be hard to top in 2011.
We spent this weekend up in the mountains again, this time with my parents, and the Boughmans. Between naps and opposite schedules, it was hard to bank any real together time for Raegan and Payton, but there were a couple hours in there they managed to get in some playtime. Raegan likes to pick on Payton, trying to steal her bottle, sippy cup, Cheerios, or whatever Payton has. It's really cute to watch, but sometimes Payton didn't think so! Friday was absolutely beautiful leading into a cold, rainy, and foggy New Year's Day. We had many friends up in the mountains also, and managed to meet up with most of them....hello to Greg, Lachelle, Philip, Jason, Atencio, Scott, Deon, Stonie, Chris, Chasity, Rob, and JJ! Two years in a row now I didn't manage to scrape up enough energy to make it to midnight. It was a pretty early night in our house, and we all feel great today because of it!
Payton continues to learn more and more words, understanding them, trying to mimic, and speak them. She is full-on walking around furniture, and has become a pro at pushing around her walker toys. I don't think it will be too much longer before her determination takes over and she takes off on her own. Her dexterity improves daily, and I can tell she's starting to prefer only "real" food over the runny, bland, and boring baby food. Time for Mommy to start cooking more! Maybe that could be one of my New Year's resolutions?
