Trampoline Fun at the Kreutzers

Saturday was Payton's first time on a trampoline. We were at the Kreutzer's house for dinner and to play with Riley (10), Gavin (6), and Morgan (2 1/2). I got on the trampoline with her, and Gavin bounced us around some. Payton loved it, and would bend her knees everytime we came down, as if she was pushing off to jump again. It was too funny. Then the kids wanted to all do a photoshoot together, so these pictures are the result! Enjoy!

Payton absolutely loved playing with the kids. She is doing her best to be a big kid, sitting up, paying attention to them and laughing at them, and soaking up the world around her. We all had a great time catching up, and we're all going to make more of an effort to get the kids together more often!!! She definitely doesn't like to miss out on what's going on, as she really didn't give us much of a nap that evening, but she wasn't crabby either....that's okay with us!! We'll stay as flexible with her schedule as she lets us. So far, so good!

PS...I think Gavin might have a little crush on Payton ;)

Baby Boom!

We have had a big month of 1 year old birthdays! This entire summer has been nothing but guessing which friend is going into labor next, and we still have many more due between now and March. Payton is going to have no shortage of friends, that's for sure!

As for Payton, since she had that rash last week and couldn't get her shots, we went in Wednesday morning and got it taken care of. The first needle went into her thigh, and she flinched. No crying. The second shot went into the other thigh, she took a big breath and out came a scream, tongue curled up in her mouth. I picked her up, told her she was a good, brave girl, and nothing else. Not one tear. The nurse couldn't believe how well she did!

Last Saturday night we went to Raegan's parent's new house. The girls played a little. We saw Raegan tonight, and she has the same rash Payton had :( It doesn't bother her, and no fever, but that probably means what Payton had WAS a virus, and poor little Raegan got it from her last weekend. Since yesterday Payton has had a runny nose and been sneezing a lot. So evidently the whole being allergic to different kinds of soap wasn't the case. So, Payton has her first little cold, but it hasn't slowed her down at all!

We spent Friday evening over at the Kreutzer's house, and Payton got to play with Riley, Gavin, and Morgan. Morgan, who is 2 1/2, got to "hold" Payton and help feed her bottle to her. She was a very big help, and Payton loved her. Payton got to "jump" on a trampoline for her first time. THAT was a TRIP! The dogs kept getting up there, so it got very interesting (don't worry, Payton wasn't up there with the doggies!) Hopefully I'll get the pictures from Julie soon, and I'll get them posted!

Saturday was Sam's 1st birthday party. He had SO many friends over, and all the kids played really well together. Payton was trying her best to be a big kid. She sat by herself on the floor and played with toys, and would try to walk when I held her fingers. When we put her in Jon and Missy's bed for a nap, she turned 180 degrees, then scooted over to where there were some books on the bed. She proceeded to "read" one to herself, and then decided she'd rather snack on it! Must have been a good book!

Next weekend is one of our favorite weekends of the year. It's our annual Labor Day beach trip with the Kuglers, Garmans, Tophams, Longs, Tisdales, and McNeils. It's the first trip for Sam (1), Thomas (10 months), and Payton (almost 5 months), and we'll have about 24 total, adults and babies, under one roof....stay tuned for pictures and stories from that wild weekend!!

Payton's 4 Month Check Up

Today was Payton's 4 month doctor appointment and shots. I was guessing her to be high on the growth charts, about 17 pounds and 26 inches. Her official measurements are: 17 pounds, 8 ounces, and 26.5 inches, which is in the 97th percentile in weight, and 100th in height. Her head measured 42 cm, 75th percentile. She got no shots, because of her rash. For the past 3 or so days we've noticed red bumps and spots all over her body. It's not bothering Payton, and she doesn't have a fever. I didn't rush to the doctor, knowing we were going Friday. The doc said it is either caused by me changing her soap from Aveeno to Johnson's, or it may be viral, and will have to run its course. The doc said we can start feeding her solids when we're ready, starting with rice cereal, moving to vegetables, then fruits. I think we're going to wait until she's around 5 months to start.

You can see her second tooth has now caught up with her first. I can't believe she has 2 teeth already!! I've been giving her a little toothbrush to chew on each day, to help get the formula off her teeth, and to get her in the habit of brushing! I also poured some formula in a sippy cup, just to see how well she could do, and she held onto the cup, and took a little formula, but she then turned her nose up, and wanted her bottle back. We'll try again next month!

This past week has flown by, as most of them these days do. Payton has been doing really well for Granby, with the occasional fussiness from that second tooth poking through (which you can see in the pics). We had a request for more Payton and doggie pics, and bathtime pics, so I hope you all enjoy!! (Here you are, Mainda!!) She loves her bath time....can you tell?

The wait is over....

....to see why Payton's been chewing and drooling so much. She had her first tooth break through last Thursday afternoon, August 12th. The bottom right (her right) came through after a couple days of not taking very good naps for Granby during the day, and a little fussiness. She has also been pulling at her ear, but seldomly. The bottom left tooth, right beside this one, looks like it's going to come through any day now. If you look closely at the first several pictures, you can just barely get a glimpse of her shiny white "toofer!" And you can see the second one trying to pop through. Won't be long before she's enjoying her first Cheerio!!

The past week has been busy, as usual. Dinner with the Collins and Kenningtons, boatride with the Boughmans, Kyler's first birthday party, and swimming at the pool. The doggies even got to swim some over at the Kennington's lake house. You can see the pics of everyone worn out!! Payton is growing and growing and her personality is really starting to show. She's so long that she has to wear 9-18 month (depending on the style/brand) clothes! She has her 4 month check up and shots :( on Friday. We are guessing her to be around 17 pounds, 26-27 inches....which is really big for a 4 month old!

Oh, and on another sad, sad note....I had a 5 year old rub my belly and ask if I was having another baby :O So I'm REALLY ready for cooler weather so that I may get out and run, and shed these layers of fat I've worked so hard to accumulate! Bring on fall and football :)
