A Gooble Here, A Gobble There...

Our little Indian Princess

I asked her to pose.  This is what I got.  A little too early for gang signs, don't you think? lol
Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.  The weather was perfect, the food was good, and the company, even better.  On Thanksgiving morning, Payton, Griffin, and I ran in the Charlotte Turkey Trot, which has become our tradition.  Payton's one mile fun-run was first.  She was SO excited.  She had her own bib number, and ran with hundreds of other kids.  She was definitely one of the youngest kids, by far.  Other than stopping to take off her sweatshirt, she ran almost the entire one mile!  I started out running with her, but had to go to the start line for my 8K, so Granby stayed with Payton to finish out the race.  Grumps, Daddy, and Griffin were her cheerleaders.  She earned her very own medal :)

I picked her up to make sure Daddy saw her...then I put her down

I hadn't run since Saturday, the day of my half marathon.  My hamstrings were TIIIIGHT!  I didn't have a great run, but still managed to finish strong, in under 42 minutes (8:25 pace).  I was happy with that, since I didn't get injured!

Watching for Mommy!

Coming into the finish.  41 minutes, 48 seconds, just short of 5 miles

Then, it was Griffin's turn.  He ran in the "Tot Trot," which Payton ran in last year.  It was 26.2 yards, and he was RARIN' to go.  We did some warm-up laps on the practice course, then I had to entertain him while we waited for all the "under two's" to line up.  Here are the pics...he was all smiles!

Getting fussy...ready to run!

...aaaaand, he's off!  Finally!

High five!
After naps, off to the Thanksgiving feast we went.  Our extended family was there...the Tophams, Tisdales, and Garmans.  We had a wonderful time and meal.
Toys out.  Kids in.  Not exactly how this is supposed to work?

She is finally starting to love her balance bike...might be time for a bigger bike with training wheels?

Look at that mullet...say goodbye to it, as he's getting his first haircut on Friday, Nov. 30th!

Griffin and Uncle JP played on that slide forever.  Griffin LOVED it!

Upset someone else was playing with his ball.  The boy likes balls.  What can I say?  lol

Say "CHEESE," Payton!  :)  I think the turkey must have gotten to her.
Me with Amy, Missy, and Jill...love these girls!

SO proud of my little brother :)

Sam (3), Payton (2.5), and Caroline (5)

I'm pretty sure Payton has Caroline in a headlock
The gang minus Wes, who was sleeping soundly.  Again, the turkey :)  Gobble, gobble!  It was a great Thanksgiving!

Friday morning we packed up and headed to Radford, to visit Granddude and Nana.  The kids were very excited!  Nana and Granddude had some friends over for our second Thanksgiving feast (I REALLY need to run now!)  The food, company, and wine were great! Granddude and the kids had a good time playing in the leaves and with the soccer ball.  The dogs had a great time also!

These pictures speak for themselves...both Granddude and Payton enjoying being silly!

Ferocious Emma, lol
Then...Daddy came out to play!  (It was COLD!  Not even 30 degrees yet!)

Peek-A-Boo

...and Nana and little G come to join in the (cold) fun!

Saturday, after more playing in the leaves, we went to choose and cut our own Christmas tree.  We always get a real tree, but we've never done it this way.  It was COoooLd (high of just 38).  Everyone had a great time!  Payton and I decorated the tree Sunday night.  I can't believe Christmas is upon us.  But up first...that looming 12/12/12 date I have with myself and that "over the hill" double-digit number.  Whew.  Until then....
Which tree will it be?

What does a chicken do?
