Well, I was ready to publish my blog update, and EVERYTHING I worked on for 2 days...gone. Didn't save. I'm frustrated, but I need to try again...so, here goes. HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY TO GRIFFIN!
Griffin, our little lovebug. You were due on August 16, 2011, but we scheduled you for a csection one week early. August 9th is the day we would finally get to meet you (mommy was SO ready!) We didn't know if you were a girl or boy (although I had a strong suspicion you were a boy). Mommy and Daddy arrived at the hospital, early in the morning. While we were waiting for Dr. Lucas to arrive, we were cool, calm and collected. This time we knew what to expect. We even watched Sports Center (hey, it was the beginning of football season...priorities, son!) At 9:52am we welcomed you, little squishy, loving, cuddly baby, into the world. Griffin Miles. 9 pounds, 2 ounces a WEEK early! 20 inches long. You have completed our family in a way no one understands. Ever since that day, we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the world through your eyes. Watching you learn, play, and grow up into a sweet little boy. We love you SO much. We couldn't be more proud of you. Happy 2nd birthday, baby boy!

The day before your birthday was Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary...Nana and Granddude came to stay with you guys, and let us go out to celebrate.

We went to Vivace for drinks, Dresslers for dinner, then to the Panthers/Bears preseason game. We had a great time, and the weather cooperated. I even ran into an old buddy of mine.

We had Griffin's party at the Palisades pool. It was a gorgeous day (thankfully) and all had a great time. Here are a TON of pictures from the day.

We had a wonderful birthday party. Sunshine, water, and great friends. Thank you to all who made it such a special day for Griffin...he's still walking around singing "Happy birthday to Griffinnnnn!" And, because we don't like to sit still for long,
we Griffin decided that we were going on a boat ride that evening. Diana, Tobias, and baby Roman took us out on their new boat. We cruised around for a while, then docked at TBones. We didn't get the kids home until 11pm! They relaxed, watching movies, down in the beds under the boat. We had a great time, and a wonderful evening. Great way to end Griffin's birthday celebration!

Sunday morning, today, we let Griffin (with Payton's assistance) open his birthday presents. He would like to thank everyone!! It was a terrific weekend!
And if all this wasn't enough, we have a new neighbor who is a fire chief. He dropped off hats, bracelets, stickers, coloring books, and fire badges. He promises to bring the fire truck over some day soon. That would make some happy kids around here :)
We are off to Pawley's Island in the morning, with a couple we met on our honeymoon, in St. Lucia. They live in New York, and we haven't seen them in 5 years! They have a little boy, Jackson, who is in between Payton and Griffin's ages, and a sweet baby girl, Olivia, 4 months old. We are looking forward to a wonderful vacation week to continue our anniversary, and Griffin's birthday, celebrations. xo
