Summer Fun!

Although we've been preoccupied with Grumps and his surgery, who, by the way is doing awesome, we managed to have some fun the past week and weekend.

Payton, Griffin, and neighbor, Sienna

The girls kept diving over and over.  Brian went under and captured a couple cute shots.

Payton has been diving for a while now, but goes straight down to the bottom.  I was trying to teach her a little more of a swim team dive...to push off with her feet.  She did pretty well!  And she's getting better and better with her free style.  Now, I have to keep this going at the indoor pool over the winter.

We had to do a little celebrating for Auntie Cheryl's 40th birthday, so we did exactly what she wanted...we spent all weekend on the lake!  The kids, as always, had a blast!  I don't think they know how good they have it!  Payton and Griffin got to go tubing for their first time.  It was all smiles, until Griffin and I got dumped off, but we survived :)  Payton also decided she wanted to try and waterski.  3, and trying to waterski?  That's my girl!  She didn't get past being pulled by Uncle Jeremy (with the rope, not with the boat going), but I'm proud of her for trying.
Raegan, Payton, Carter, and Camryn

Jumping off Carter's dock...over and over again.

Carter teaching Payton how to flip.  No, she didn't try....yet!

Two of my besties...Cheryl and Stonie

Yes.  He has on Raegan's pink swimmies.  We wanted to see if he would be able to float around by himself.  Nope.  He wanted his momma.

So, Griffin kept rolling around in the water like a fish.  It was probably one of those "you had to be there" moments, but we all thought it was hilarious.  Here's a short video of him:

Lake Wylie Spa evening (YUCK!)

Look at that sunset, and beautiful family!

She doesn't look too bad for 40, eh?

3 going on 16.  Always wants to drive the boat!

Another little boat driver in the making!

My handsome hubby!

No one had any fun.  Not.at.all.

Payton did NOT want to get off the tube!

And Griffin did NOT want to put his new "Cars" cup down.  Ever.  Empty?  Doesn't matter.  It has Lightning McQueen and Mater on it.  The boy is obsessed!

A resident "pterodactyl"

Getting the skis on.  Step one.  Check!

Waiting for sissy to try to ski.  No nap, and still all smiles :)

Skis on.  Thumbs up!  She's ready to gooooooo!

Listening to Daddy's instructions.

She didn't get how to push evenly with both feet, so she never got up, but it was a stellar first try!  Maybe wakeboarding with mommy soon?  :)

Payton and Raegan...weekend over :(
So, my Dad is doing really well.  He's sick of daytime TV.  Well, he claims there is nothing to actually watch during the day (meaning, no sports of interest on), so he's getting back into the swing of getting emails answered, and getting caught up on some work.  He is tired, and sore, but doing really well.  After not being able to eat anything for almost a week, watching the Food Network, and really commercials in general, was making him miserably hungry.  He is eating now, and feeling good about everything.  He'll begin his 12 chemo treatments in mid-September.  After the past year of Brian's mom having breast cancer, & surgery, and Dad having colon cancer, & surgery, and having to put Emma down, we are looking forward to a fun, uneventful 2014!!
