7:25 PM Waiting in Better Spirits

Well I think we're feeling much better if only because of a change in attitude. There is a lot more hope now with the knowledge that we have a chance of a normal delivery and with improved spirits, the whole situation improves dramatically. If we had gone with a C-section we could already have met our little one already, but it will be worth the wait if we don't have to undergo surgery.

They've brought in the instruments of torture....er, the Foley Bulb kit and it seems a bit intimidating...by the diagram on the packaging, there are two bulbs that fill up with a max of 80 mL of water each. The six syringes on the table hold a combined 180 mL of water, so most of that is going to be used to inflate Leigh. Couple that with the Lantern Battery that upon investigation was found to be inferior to some flashlights that people carry on keychains and this is building toward a very odd procedure.

We were told that Leigh would have it placed at around 7 but there are another couple women on the floor that were pushing and now one has delivered and the other has gone in for a C-section, so we're currently sitting in the on-deck circle, next up to bat. Shooting for 8...

Susan stopped by and hung out with us for a while...it was great to see her and a welcome diversion! Thanks to everyone that has come by in our 36 or so hours so far.
